Engineer Intern
 

Position Description

Sorba Engineering seeks a civil engineer intern to work on various projects to support our ongoing office and fieldwork.  This intern plays a crucial role in a team harnessing the latest technology to offer a full spectrum of civil engineering and site design solutions. This individual will focus on working with the Project Manager (and other team members) to continuously monitor and strategize overall product status and production scheduling.

Primary Duties

• Work in a team environment with engineers and designers to produce civil engineering land development documents.

• Learn and provide technical design and calculations on a wide variety of projects.

• Learn and assist in the production of design documents using AutoDesk Civil 3D.

• Independently manage project tasks directly assigned to you.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering school. US citizenship is required due to the nature of the work being performed. An engineer-in-training certification is preferred. Additionally, applicants should possess the following qualifications:

• Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment 

• Positive attitude and a good work ethic

• Self-motivated to work independently and meet deadlines

• Strong skills in Microsoft 365 required

• Entry-level experience with CAD Technologies, GIS Systems, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Paint and other mapping applications desirable
