Matthew McComas is a professional engineer with more than 20 years of experience as a civil engineer. He leads the team to explore simple solutions to highly complex challenges. His focus is technical accuracy, efficiency, constructability and maintainability. Matt joined Sorba with the intention to help build a new business providing professional growth opportunities to project managers, engineers, designers and future employees. Both a personal and professional goal remains delivering high-quality and high-profile projects that are lasting monuments to history, culture, community and their end users. Matt holds a BS in civil engineering from the Virginia Military Institute and is active in the SAME DC Post.

Meredith McComas, PE

Meredith McComas has almost two decades of engineering expertise, primarily focused on development projects. In her role as President of Sorba, she leads the company in fulfilling its overall mission of providing quality civil engineering services. Meredith's history in land development in suburban Virginia spans over a decade. While most of the team, and portfolio, is focused on public works, her relationships will round out the firm with private projects.

Remaining strategically aligned with both clients and projects is Meredith’s focus for continuing Sorba’s success. She oversees all financial aspects of the business, ensuring the company is financially sound and ready to focus on new opportunities and challenges. Meredith is a graduate from Virginia Tech with a focus in civil engineering.

Darrell Caison, PE

Darrell Caison has over a decade of civil engineering experience specializing in federal and municipal facilities and renovations. Darrell leads Sorba’s production design. In this role, he has helped guide the team’s project management procedure guidelines, outlining all processes necessary for successful project delivery. He brings organizational leadership to production of construction drawings, and excellent communication skills with the broader project team. Darrell graduated from the University of South Carolina with a bachelors degree in civil engineering. He continued his education and received his masters from Virginia Tech.

Tim Geraghty, PE

Tim Geraghty has fifteen years of experience working in the industry. The foundation of Tim’s experience derives from his in-depth experience as a surveyor. This experience gave him a strong foundation in understanding the many facets of developing a site when conducting civil engineering services. His expertise is utility detailing, modeling of wet utility systems and understanding construction methods. Tim brings a technical perspective to design difficulties and thrives on finding constructible solutions for project specific challenges. Tim is a Virginia Tech graduate with a focus on civil engineering.

Ron King, PE
Project Manager

Ron brings to this role over 20 years of experience in the AEC industry, having started out as a field Surveyor as a teenager.  As his career progressed, Ron excelled at roles in CAD management and project engineering. His focus is a diverse portfolio that includes embassies, museums, memorials, and infrastructure.  At Sorba, he’ll bring his technical and business management skills to deliver successful projects for our federal clients.

Scott Miller, PE

Scott Miller has a decade of experience working on various federal projects both throughout the DMV and overseas. He manages projects ranging from small redevelopment to large new development and conceptual studies to full construction. Scott’s expertise in rooted in stormwater management, particularly working within Maryland’s regulations, and 3D grading. His project management skills have been a team asset in managing embassy projects, many of which are overseas. Scott has also worked on a number of the firm’s IDIQ contracts, managing multiple tasks orders simultaneously. Scott received his Masters, from Virginia Tech, with a focus in geospatial 

engineering.

Michael Quaglia
Project Manager

Michael Quaglia is a professional engineer who has over two decades of experience in land development. He started his career as a CAD technician, held a variety of positions, and has joined Sorba as a part of leadership. With a background of both civil engineering and anthropology studies, Michael’s leadership style is rooted in technical competence, mentorship and communication. He often lends his skills to the team’s quality assurance, focusing on efficiency and problem solving. Michael understands the regulatory requirements of the various jurisdictions within the Washington metropolitan area and what is required to navigate the entitlement process for development projects. He is excited to continue Sorba’s success with a variety of project types, providing new challenges requiring unique and innovative design solutions.
